First rule of Verizon: Fuck Verizon.

I can speak from experience...I have Verizon.

I've actually had nothing but average experiences with them...which ain't bad compared to other providers I've had.

Apparently I'm in the minority from all the stuff I see though.

I really shouldn't complain because it hasn't been bad. My only gripe is the whole new plan thing would cost my family a minimum of $50 more per month and not a single person I've talked to, outside of one on the phone, agrees with me that it is absurd. I'm not changing a thing!

My experience with the FiOS side of the house has been exceptional. Their techs helped me set up a totally non-standard setup and didn't charge me extra (I've got 2 ONTs, one running RJ45 for networking and one running MoCA for TV/ondemand/multiroom DVR/etc.) It's great cause normally on FiOS you get one that goes MoCA to the router which bridges to RJ45 so when the slave MoCA boxes stream from the DVR it bogs down your internet. Also allows me to run my own router on the internet side so I can get around the shitty NAT tables in the provided MoCA routers. The tech that came out was pretty much "You seem to know what you want and what HQ doesn't know won't hurt em...I'm not sure how to do that, but we'll figure it out". He was at the house for like 12 hours over two days haha. He did butcher some of the coax on the splitter from the old Dish system which was a bit annoying though.

Cell side is expensive for sure. However, they've always been honest with me as opposed to Sprint which sold me a phone that straight up sold me a phone that didn't work on their network in my area...told me the network would be updated in 30 days...30 days later told me that it was now 18 months before it would work...told me I couldn't return the brick and reactivate the old phone without paying 375$s because 30 days had passed (mother fuckers, you told me to wait 30 days)...I rooted and switched the phone to roam on Verizon (which worked fine, there was no hardware problem even though the low level Sprint guys continually insisted there was...the higher level techs were well aware of the problem since 4 or 5 huge markets were effected by it)...they suspended my service after <3 days of that for "excessive roaming" but still wanted me to pay for the rest of the month and continue for the rest of the contract. Huge PITA. I probably spent 80 hours on the phone and in stores with them getting out of that. Whole fucking work week of my time.

Damn good experience there with Verizon, then!

Don't get me wrong, I personally would choose Verizon in a heartbeat but it's given me massive headaches over the mobile side and the FiOS side is limited to my mom's house as they don't serve my area.

I pine for Verizon FiOS.

HAHAHAHA this reminds me of a friend who used to work tech support. He said that a very angry customer once yelled, "CAN'T YOU JUST TRY ANOTHER INTERNET?"
